Learn how to be a Mental Health First Aider to support people experiencing mental health problems or who are in crisis.

Join us for this two-day Mental Health First Aid course and learn about the signs and symptoms of the common mental health problems, what sort of help has been shown by research to be effective, and how to provide mental health first aid in a crisis situation.

This course is based on guidelines developed through the expert consensus of people with lived experience of mental health problems and professionals.

Who is this course for?

The Standard Mental Health First Aid course is for anyone who would like to learn simple, practical first aid skills for helping a family member, friend, co-worker or other person who is experiencing mental health problems

Course information

• An accredited course.

• This course is based on guidelines developed through the expert consensus of people with lived experience of mental health problems and professionals.

• Topics include depression, anxiety, substance use, suicidal thoughts and behaviours, and psychosis.

• On completion of post- course assessment, participants will be accredited as a Mental Health First Aider for three years.

This course is not a therapy or support group, it is an education course to learn how to give mental health first aid to others.

Cost

$300 + Eventbrite booking fee. Includes morning tea.
