Our guest speaker is Joyce Vidot.  A word from Joyce: “I have worked in the mental health sector for over 30 years. My passion are my daughter and grandchildren, and making sure that they are as well as can be. I am a humanitarian so believe in helping people to have some good quality of life.”

PARENTING AND THE CARING ROLE:

Being a parent of a teenager or young adult can be tough, knowing how to respond when there are mental health issues can be even tougher.

EVERYONE’S EXPERIENCE IS UNIQUE
Often parents in the caring role are impacted in several areas.

Topics include:

  • Relationships and family dynamics
  • Understanding Self Harm
  • Lived Experience Recovery Stories
  • Understanding Eating Disorders
  • Alcohol and other Drugs
  • Communications Skills
  • Hearing Voices
  • Self care and wellbeing

Where: The Online Parent Support Group via zoom provides a service in a safe, supportive and non-judgemental environment.

Cost: This service is at no cost.

When: 5.30pm, first Thursday of the month
