From time to time, MIFWA extends a call to the community to seek new members to get involved on an existing or new committee to work on short and long-term projects. Current calls for committee vacancies are listed below.
Committee members are volunteers and may be a combination of MIFWA members, consumers, carers, and professionals who are friends of MIFWA.
Vacancies
Consumer and Carer Engagement Committee
Only open to consumers and carers living in WA.
MIFWA is establishing a Consumer and Carer Engagement Committee and are inviting expressions of interests from consumers and carers who already engage with our services.
The Committee will meet every two months to support decision-making processes within MIFWA by increasing consumer and carer knowledge, identifying needs, and developing policy and service delivery improvements.
We’d love to hear from you if you’re already engaged with MIFWA and you:
- currently live in WA
- have experience participating on committees or in advisory groups, or have a strong interest in gaining more experience in this
- can confidently communicate your views and personal experiences
- are a good listener who also respects the views of others who may have different perspectives and experiences, and
- are available to attend committee meetings every two months either at our Midland office or can comfortably join online.
Membership is for two years (2024–2026) and reviewed at four months and 12 months.
While participation is voluntary, you’ll receive an honorarium for your time and contribution.
