It means MIFWA workers do not talk about your private information unless there is a good reason.

We protect information about people who are connected with MIFWA.

What information is private?
Private information may include:
- your name
- your address
- your phone number
- your email address
- information about your health or support needs
- information you share with MIFWA
- information about complaints or concerns
How do we protect your information?
We take care with private information.
We use:
- secure systems
- safe records
- trained workers
- limited access
- rules about sharing information
Only workers who need your information for their role can access it.
When might we share information?
We keep your information private.
Sometimes we may need to share information.
- you say it is okay
- the law says we must share it
- a court or regulator asks for it
- we need to keep you or another person safe
- we need to respond to a serious complaint or concern
- we need information for an audit, and people are not named
Safety comes first
Your safety is very important.
If a worker thinks there is a serious and immediate risk to your safety, they may call emergency services.
They may also tell a manager so you can get support quickly.
Your rights
You have the right to:
- have your privacy respected
- know why we collect your information
- ask who can see your information
- ask us to fix information if it is wrong
- tell us if you are worried about privacy or confidentiality
