We’re proud to share that MIFWA has achieved the Level 2 – COMMIT Accreditation in the Carers + Employers program. As a carer-friendly employer, we have proven our commitment to supporting staff members who are caring for their loved ones.
Some highlights from the list of evidence that helped us achieve this accreditation:
- Our annual staff survey helps understand how many staff identify as carers, so we can develop policies and resources that enable them to fulfil their caring roles.
- Carers are included, supported and protected throughout our Carer-Friendly Workplace Policy and in accordance with the Fair Work Act 2009.
- Carer responsibilities are included in our Equal Opportunity Equity & Diversity Policy.
- Carer-specific information sheets, including carer’s leave, are available on our internal information hub for staff and are provided during new employee onboarding and online induction.
- All staff receive information about our Carer Champions who are available to support them if they’re caring for their loved ones.
- Our Carer-Friendly Workplace activities help carers connect, support each other, and learn together.
The Carers + Employers program is a project led by Carers NSW and funded by the NSW Government. In WA, the program is represented and delivered by Carers WA and funded by the Dept. of Communities.
