Six newly accredited Mental Health First Aiders in Jerramungup

At the end of July, six community members in Jerramungup came together for Standard Mental Health First Aid training with Mark Davies, learning how to better support themselves, their families, and their community.

This was our first time in Jerramungup, proudly marking five years of the CBH Regional Mental Wellness Program.

Over two days, participants gained practical tools to recognise signs of mental health challenges and offer timely support. When asked what stood out, they shared:

  • “How to help someone in trouble.”
  • “That we can help. Ask questions!”
  • “Confidence to help or try to help someone in a crisis.”

Looking ahead, the message from the community is clear:

  • “Raise awareness.”
  • “We need to somehow get more men involved.”
  • “Educating the younger generation.”

We’re proud to keep showing up in the grain growing areas of regional WA – where local support makes all the difference.

Thank you to CBH Group, Jerramungup CRC and Janine Defontaine (our Regional Program Manager) for helping bring this important training to life.
